Am back from holiday but my back is hurting like mad. It's particularly bad when I sit in a desk chair - I seize up and for those first few minutes of standing afterwards I look like Mrs Overall. So sitting at a PC isn't really a great idea and I'm not going to be posting very often until it's better.

Oooh, do sympathise. My children mock me by bending over as they walk behind me when I'm like this. It isn't much help now, but I have had lots of courses and meetings about backs and general lifting (natch, under the circs) and the current physio recommends that one take ibuprofen immediately upon injury, and then keep it up at regular (safe) intervals as it will help the muscles relax and the back to heal. Bear this in mind for the future. They aren't much help for when it's already happened though. So sending gentle hugs and suggest you eat chocolate. xx

The suggestion to eat chocolate is a wonderful one, I've also herd that really smelly cheese can help back pain. It's worth a go!
