Journal Your Christmas

*cough* mydoublepagespreadinScrapbookInspirationsMagazine *cough*

This is last year's album. I've not decided whether to take part again this year (when you sign up for the class you automatically get sent fresh, daily prompts every year - pretty damn good value, if you ask me).

I'm feeling quite unfestive for some reason, not sure why. I'm usually rubbing myself up against Christmas in an unseemly fashion by November, but it seems to be passing me by this year.  I do like looking at last year's album though. It captured a lot that I'd already forgotten.

If you're currently feeling less of an old misery guts than me, you can find out more about JYC & sign up here. If you REALLY can't contain yourself, you can view my Journal pages by clicking on the Journal Your Christmas tag below. Go on, I won't think any the less of you.

I got published in SI again this month. My UKS team did a Chinese Whispers challenge whereby someone did a LO and the next person in the chain scraplifted it and passed on the results and so on. The chain has not yet completed, so we've not had a team reveal yet, but I went ahead and did the classy thing and submitted mine for national publication anyways.

I'm getting a bit worried. Team mates keep commenting on how far removed it is from the design they lifted or created. I'm concerned I may have interpreted the brief of "scraplift" a little broadly i.e. ignored everything about the existing design and added a whole load of new stuff in different places instead. So, um, created an entirely new layout, then.
.
Could I be the first scrapper to get into trouble for not scraplifting? Hey ho.

Ring out the bells and crack open a new smack blog, scrap-fans, cos I got published in SI!

My son saw the LO featuring him in the Reader's Gallery and said, “Does this mean I’m famous now, Mum?”. I didn’t have the heart to tell him. Poor, deluded fool, it is MY name printed beside it, it is I who am famous, mwahahahahahahaha!

Must go, Hobbycraft doesn’t shut for another few hours, I am going to make him stand outside holding a stick and gazing at it until we are recognised.

Well, I made it into this month's Simply Stamping. I entered their Stamper of the Year Competetion and just limped over the line into their Best of the Rest Category.

That's Best of the Rest, people. BEST!!

Actually there were some fabulous entries. I'm amazed I made it anwhere near publication, there's not much stamping on mine apart from the main image and it was first and foremost a stamping based challenge. I think it looks a bit, well, lightweight compared with most of the other entries.

Still, I don't care. I got a melting pot and my first pot of gesso this weekend. Am proper grown-up crafter now!
