12 Tags of Christmas: tag 2

Another pretty slavish copy of Tim's gorgeous tag, but I don't have the time to exercise independant thought at the moment! It's so much easier & quicker when all the thinking has been dome for you.

I had the Kraft Resist, inks and Picket Fence stain. For the deer, I stamped one from one of Tim's seasonal silhouette sets using antique linen stain to get a softer look. I tried the splatter technique with the perfect pearls, but I only have gold and it doesn't show up as well as I expect the white does. The edging is a Martha Stewart punch painted in gold acrylic.

Really like the soft muted colours on this.

Thank you for your lovely comments yesterday, by the way. I am going to sit down tonight and make sure I visit each of your blogs x

Key fob

Right. Settle down, I made something.

This is a key fob for my locker at work. Delightfully, it features pictures of me. I used the Hipstamatic app for the iPhone. I'm using that at lot at the moment. You can only take so many pictures of the cat staring at you before it gets dull (I know! I wouldn't have thought so either, but it's true) so Hipstamatic perks things up a bit.

I took some of these tags, some ink, paint, book pages, crackle glaze and just a smidgen of wine (a lot of wine. It's mostly all made of wine, if I'm being honest) and made these.

Incidentally, this represents an excitingly subversive act for me, as I intend to leave it dangling from my locker & all personal effects have recently been banned from our office. I'm really sticking it to The Man. Regular readers, however, will recall that I have previous when it comes to guerilla crafting, having made (and subsequently been instructed to remove) a desk calendar which contravened at least three sub-clauses of the dignity at work policy.

PS Hello again! I've really missed you*

*I have not missed you

A couple of ATCs from a recent swap on the Stamp Galaxy forum. I dripped alcohol ink and mixative onto acetate. The stamps underneath are by Paperartsy and I doodled the chequered border.
.
I have been tagged by the lovely Rainowgirl

"So, the rules are: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to blog about their 7 things and post the rules as well. At the end of your blog you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog. "

1. I am married (10 years this year) to a man I met in my first week of university 20 years ago and we have two boys, aged 6 and 2.

2. I work in the public sector but I studied drama at university and used to have an equity card.

3. I love Marmite. Adore the stuff, could eat it straight from the jar. Actually, I have eaten it straight from the jar.

4. I've never seen a James Bond film.

5. I can't tell left from right.

6. I am fascinated by the paranormal, but am terrified of seeing a ghost. When watching Most Haunted I can never quite shake the feeling that the ghosts featured know I'm watching and will come and visit me if I think too hard about them afterwards.

7. The opening titles of the kids tv programme In the Night Garden make me want to cry. In fact I defy anyone not to go all moist eyed. CBeebies, 6.20pm. By the time you get to "Take the little sail down. Light the little light" you should be wrestling with a powerful yearning for your long lost childhood. Then the melancholy theme tune kicks in, at once sweet and sad, and, well, I usually have to leave the room at that point.

Now to find 7 bloggers who haven't already been tagged...

I made some tags for a team tag swap on UK Scrappers. I used my favourite Paperartsy stamp, plus a Rhona Farrer swirl or flourish stamp and a bargain lace effect one I got from Lakeland. Lots of ink, some gold leafing around the edges, german scrap and - whispers - gold peel offs!!!

There. I've said it. Oh the relief! No, wait, where are you going? Come back, peel offs are great, honest!

I'm really big on gold peels offs at the moment. Not the main images themselves but rather the waste that surrounds them. I've found that borders, corners and fans especially have great shaped itty bitty bits that when put together look like bits of metalwork. Most of the metal effects on the inchies below were made from peel off waste.

A tag for the Daring Cardmaker's Little Extra challenge. I think that's the last of my craftyness for the next few days. I've had men on the roof today and have ten for dinner on Christmas Day, so the next two days will be spent sterilising the house and generally discharging my housewifely duties. Merry bloomin' Christmas.

Tag

I got tired of making Christmas cards last night so made this tag instead. The face is my 6 year old son, touched up with tea dye and gel pen.

It was my first real go at UTEE and I was quite pleased with the results, the frame looks like a bronze casting. The frame is an Invoke arts unmounted stamp.

Mr Glitterati peered over my shoulder as I was finishing it. "What's that?"

"Its a tag"

"Oh... A gift tag?"

"No, just a tag"

"Oh... What's it for?"

"It's. Just. A. Tag"

"Oh..."

He studied it for a good ten seconds, and I was thinking Oh you better think of something good to say mister, you better have the MOTHER of all compliments about to trip lightly from your lips.

"Right. I'm going to bed"

Right. No sex for you tonight then.
